About

I’m Basile — I’m a storyteller, writer, builder, and avid explorer of the unknown.

I started as a robotics engineer, but I’ve always had one foot in the unpredictable — whether that’s biking from France to China, tracking bitcoin through darknet markets, or shaping industrial policy at Volt Europa.

Right now, I run Chainlabs, where we fight cybercrime and help people recover stolen crypto. I also write a newsletter on European industrial policy, and invest in projects that stretch the imagination — like Tactogen and Kacific.

In 2024, I took a lifelong vow to donate 10% of my income to charities.

When I’m not building or investigating, I’m reading about philosophy, geopolitics, or tech’s impact on society. Here’s what’s on my shelf.

Thank you for reading this blog – let me know you are here, I’d love to know <3.

About this blog

Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok are a firehose of information. I won’t be able to connect with you in the way I’d like to through those platforms. This blog is a calm lake in the mountains for the curious wanderer. It gives me the space to expand on ideas so you can get to know me better.

So I’d like to invite you, dear reader, to share this adventure with me. Below each page on this website you can react and tell me what you’d like to read next. I appreciate and read every comment.
